Huntsville TX is an awesome place to consider if you are "fixing to retire," want to slow down a bit, are tired of the noise and overcrowding of Houston or Houston suburb, etc.  Retirees love the small town feel, being just an hour from Houston and Major Medical Facilities like MD Anderson, the fact that it is a college town, and don;t forget, Elkins Lake and free golf! 

I blog about it a lot.  I can't help it.  I love it here and I don't even play golf!  One Homeowners fee and it is literally all the golf you can play with NO GREEN FEES!  You are not dreaming, it is true.

Huntsville TX has a small town feel and a TARGET! (You know, that was pretty big news about a year ago!)  Seriously, it has everything you need for a comfortable lifestyle and then some PLUS you can get to the grocery store and other shopping or WHATEVER in a matter of minutes, NOT 30 minutes like I used to have to deal with in the Metroplex.
