Christmas 2015 w/ The Montgomerys

Christmas Day 2015 Mel is amazing. He will turn 91 on January 3rd. He loved the gumbo and told me it was "among the best" he's had. That is a compliment because of the fierce competition over the years
:-) 
He had 2 big bowls. It was "okra-less" dark roux gumbo with chicken, crawfish, andouille sausage, shrimp, fresh lump crab, fresh serrano, banana, chile & habanero peppers from our garden topped w/ a big juicy raw oyster in the center w/ a dusting of file powder served w/ corn bread muffins and a crisp light pinot grigio. Yummmmm....
